Only Through Time, Time Is Conquered (6m 7s loop)
‘Only Through Time, Time is Conquered’ is a film that arose from a certain dissatisfaction I felt with my immediate living environment, on which I felt I suddenly had to rely on enormously during the COVID-19 pandemic; the Rotterdam urban landscape.
Before curfew, I took long city walks with my super8 camera.
I collected images and developed them at home, in my bathroom.
Making this movie was trying to cope with these emotions of dissatisfaction.
This work was presented as a film installation during Big Art 2022 on the Hembrugterrein in Zaanstad.

‘Only Through Time Time is Conquered’ is een film die is ontstaan uit een zekere onvrede die ik voelde t.o.v. mijn directe leefomgeving, waar ik tijdens de COVID-19 pandemie ineens gigantisch op was aangewezen; het Rotterdamse stadslandschap.
Voor de avondklok inging, maakte ik lange stadswandelingen met mijn super8-camera.
Ik verzamelde beelden en ontwikkelde ze thuis, in mijn badkamer.
Het maken was de film was een poging om om te gaan met deze emoties van onvrede.
Dit werk werd gepresenteerd als een filminstallatie tijdens Big Art 2022 op het Hembrugterrein in Zaanstad.
